Dear my fellow students,

Welcome to this English Speech Competition.

Today, it is my great honor to for me, on behalf of students’ union in Chen Guang high School, where to hold the English Speech competition on such a topic——one of the best English Novels——as each of the speaker likes.

In leading a little more than 20 speakers all of you applicants in your delivering speeches at the Competition, I would be very pleased to say that the Competition should be regarded as the English Day for all of our students. This enables you speakers to represent quite an achievement in putting English-learning knowledge into practice, making your speeches successful in advance. That shall bring me to congratulate you on becoming prize winners in the Competition.

In name of both the headmaster and English teachers of the school, I would like to thank over 20 speakers for your hard working for the Competition, that shares the good pronunciation practice with each of our students, listeners, who are expected to learn each other's strong points. This could show that our students will be able to improve practically in speaking English clearly, together with in listening to English accurately, I hope. It encourages our students enjoy making the speech as well as reading or listening to English, in my belief, through the competition.

Based on its rule and regulation, speakers all of you are kindly asked to spend not more than 5 minutes in giving the speech. This means every speaker should try to speak English as fluently as possibly, I sincerely hope.

And now it is time for the English Speech Competition to be ready to start, I announce. And I wish the Competition would become a great success.
