英语中有四大特殊句型：强调句、倒装句、虚拟语气和独立主格。

中文中通过语气强调句子的重点英语口语对话开头英语口语对话开头，英文中通过句型强调重点，即It is/was +强调部分+that/who+其他部分

例如正常陈述我们明天在大厅开会：We will have a meeting in the hall tomorrow.

强调我们：It is us that/who will have a meeting in the hall tomorrow.

强调会议：It is a meeting that we will have in the hall tomorrow.

强调大厅：It is in the hall that we will have a meeting tomorrow.

强调明天：It is tomorrow that we will have a meeting in the hall.

只有强调的时候是人的时候可以用that或who，其余只能用that。

在英语考试中，有些选择题会考察强调句型。判断是否是强调句型的技巧是，把It is/was和that/who去掉，剩下的部分可以组成完整的句子，则为强调句型，适用It is/was +强调部分+that/who+其他部分结构。

如下题：

1.It is the ability to do the job______ matters, not where you come from or what you are.

A. which B. that C. what D. who

分析：看到it is 开头，先验证是否是强调句型。去掉it is 和填空部分，剩下的为“ the ability to do the job matters, not where you come from or what you are”是个完整的句子，可以判断此为强调句型，只能选that或who，只有强调人可以用who英语口语对话开头：英语四大特殊句型及应用技巧之强调句，此句强调的是ability，因此用that英语口语对话开头，选B。

强调句型和普通陈述句的转换应用：

2.____was very_____that little Jim wrote the letter.

A. It; careful B. It; carefully C. He; careful D. He; carefully

分析：验证强调句型，去掉it was和that后，剩下的成分转化为完整的句子：Little Jim wrote the letter very carefully，因此选B：It ;carefully。
